Sleep

Right now I need more sleep than usual and I am getting less...

Zek woke up 8 or 9 times last night! This has been the norm lately! He hasn't been a good sleeper since the day we got him. When he wakes up he starts to fuss and then within seconds screams the loudest scream ever! So right when he starts to make noise we have to tend to him because if not he will scream and wake everyone else up. I really hope it gets better soon.

Last night was miserable then everyone wakes up at 6:45am wanting to get up. ugh! It is hard to function on lack of sleep being pregnant and taking care of 3 other kids and trying to do everything else that I need to do.

I dont know what to do about his sleep except for wait and see if it gets better...then baby number 4 will come along and I pray that this baby is the best sleep ever :)

Sorry to complain. Things are just a little rough!

  1. I'm thinking of you!!! Praying for sleep for ALL of you. Silas has starting getting up in the night...tossing and turning. The hard thing is that we don't let him fuss for even a second due to bonding and attaching. I think he has got our number...ha!!! Hopefully things will get better soon. Audrey

  4. it's not complaining, it's just your reality right now. it is EXTREMELY hard to function on such little sleep. it is probably just a stage he is going through as he works out all the transition in his little life the only way he knows how. i will be praying for sleep for you all and that long before you welcome your 4th, he will be a champion sleeper!

  8. We are having the same problem with our son. We aren't wanting to let him cry but waking up 9 times a night is a killer...and I am not pregnant. Hope that he has a better night for you tonight and going forward. If you find any solutions that help, please post....:) I will say a quick prayer for you when I get up for our 3,4 and 5 oclock feedings :)

  10. We arent wanting to let him cry it out either. I just know with the girls if they made a few little noises they could fall back to sleep. He goes from making a few little noises to flat out screaming within 20 seconds. It will get better, I know. It is just really hard. I emailed our international adoption pediatrician today about reflux. We had thought he may have it and I am thinking that he does. Hopefully we can get down to the bottom of it very soon. It was a very fussy day today.

  11. Complain away! It's SO hard. I had forgotten how hard it was to have a baby in house!! We have been home with evyn for 6 weeks now. She did the same thing for the first month. It was exhausting, but we felt it was important in the transition phase to just go along with her. Just last week we decided that I would be a better mama and wife if we could all sleep through the night. Because she has been attaching really well and does great during the day, we decided to let her start crying and fussing and figuring out how to put herself back to sleep at night. It took a few nights, but she figured it out and has been sleeping through the night (7 to 7) for a week now. Praise God!! Getting her off bottles every 3 hours and onto solids and a consistent schedule where I know she is well fed has helped a lot, too.
I say all that to encourage you. There is hope! He will eventually sleep through the night and these sleepless nights will be a distant memory. You're the mama and you know what is best for your little man. Hang in there friend!! Praying for you!

    Hugs-
